Attend a Meeting, See How Government Works

The majority of the Richmond City Government's work comes out of the issue-based committees, commissions, authorities, and advisory boards that are either directly a part of the City Government or affiliated with the City Council or other city departments. A major tool of civic engagement, in order to experience local government in action and understand the current issues in the city, is to attend these meetings.  At these meeting, ideas are discussed, developed, and proposed before they reach City Council or the Mayor.

We've organized the groups into several categories below, so you can find a group that interests you, and learn where and when to attend their meetings.
